ARNOLDSBURG, W.Va. – Roane General Hospital announced Tuesday the opening of its long-anticipated Arnoldsburg Medical Clinic is slated for Monday, October 2nd. The clinic will offer a multi-specialty team of healthcare providers with primary care, cardiology, and walk-in services.

“Roane General has served patients from Arnoldsburg and surrounding communities over our 53 years,” Doug Bentz, chief executive officer of Roane General Hospital, said. “Having this new clinic will bring care closer to home for residents of the area. We look forward to further serving patients of those communities.”

Arnoldsburg Medical Clinic, a more than $700,000 investment in the community, is a 2,088 sq. ft modular, rural health clinic located at 1024 Arnoldsburg Road.

Calhoun County resident Carrie McKown, NP, will serve as a family nurse practitioner at Arnoldsburg Medical Clinic.

“I am blessed to have an opportunity to care for my neighbors and our local community as a whole,” she said. “We want to serve as Calhoun County residents’ primary care home and improve their health and overall wellness.”

Joining McKown at the clinic will be Melanie Wilson, a physician assistant with 25 years of experience caring for patients in Roane and Calhoun counties. Wilson will provide family medicine and walk-in services at the clinic.

In addition, the Roane General cardiology team, Dr. Scott Duffy, MD, and David Adkins, PA-C, will accept heart care patients at Arnoldsburg Medical Clinic.

“David and I have both served many patients from Arnoldsburg and the surrounding communities,” Duffy said. “We have a passion for heart health. Bringing that passion to Arnoldsburg is exciting for both of us.”

Roane General Hospital will celebrate the opening of Arnoldsburg Medical Clinic with events throughout the 56th Annual Arnoldsburg Molasses Festival from September 28 to September 30. Functions will include an open house, a sponsored livestream of the festival parade, opportunities to meet the providers, and more.

Arnoldsburg Medical Clinic will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Walk-in patients will be welcome.
